You can call me Garfield

For those of you who don't know, my tummy doesn't like dairy very well.  I can have a little, but if I get too much I get a really bad tummy ache.  This dairy sensitivity has made it a little more difficult for mama to make some of her favorite foods.  Turns out, mama uses a lot of cheese and cream of mushroom soup.

Mama was getting bored with the standard dinner meals we have been having over the past few months so mama ventured into the Health Foods area at HyVee again to see if she could come up with something new.

Lasagna was taken off the dinner menu because of all the cheese, but mama found a cheese substitute called Veggie Shreds (mama promised me it wasn't made out of veggies...)  It Was DELICIOUS!!

I don't know how mama does it, but it seems like she always makes messy meals on nights that just happen to be bath night.  Daddy had a lot of scrubbing to do!!

I would share the recipe, but if you know anything about my mama you know that recipes don't really exist.  Plus, because I don't need to go completely dairy free the recipe can't really be called dairy free and I don't want to mislead anybody who might stumble across it.

Mama also made Cream of Chicken today...I'll let you know how that turns out soon!!

Easter

As promised, here are some Easter pictures!

Saturday Mama, Daddy and I went to Rochester and took part in the Gloria Dei Easter Egg Hunt.  There were TONS of eggs and I had a great time.

I really enjoyed picking up the eggs, opening them, dumping out the stuff inside, closing the egg and then putting it in my pail.  I'm not really sure why they all had stuff in them, it is an egg hunt, not a candy hunt...

After the egg hunt we all sat down and played with our Easter Eggs.  Somebody brought bubbles so we played with those too!  I really wanted to blow the bubbles, but I couldn't quite figure it out, I did enjoy watching the big kids pop them though!

Sunday we had almost everybody over to our house for Easter.  Great Grandma Joan, Grandma Carolyn, Grandpa Tim, Auntie Megan and Tommy, Grandma Nancy, Grandpa Bob, Auntie Heidi, and Daddy's Uncle Paul.  It was a very busy day.  I got a lot of playtime in with everybody.  Here is a picture of Mama, Daddy and me at church.

It was a great weekend.  I can't wait to wear my pretty dress again!

Jane Fonda's got nothing on my Leg Warmers

That's right Ladies and Gentlemen...Leg Warmers are back in style and they don't get any cuter than this!!

Right now I only have two pairs...I am working on mama to get me some more.  Aren't I so cute!?!?

APRIL FOOLS!

No need to fear, I don't have a broken arm...pretty funny April Fools joke though!

Mama told me it was too mean to joke about that, but it was just too much fun!

Instead of spending the day at the ER, mama, daddy, Grandma Carolyn, Grandpa Tim and I went to the zoo for mama's birthday.  Their farm opened this weekend and we just had to check it out.  I really liked petting the goat, he was really soft.  The baby chicks were cute too.  Mama said I was a very good girl and very gentle with the baby animals.

The only animal I didn't like was the chickens, one of them bit my finger and I was not happy.  I told her, "No No!"

Stay safe for me...

Today I got to go to daddy's work for a safety fair. It was pretty neat, they had fun activities and treats too!

Daddy let me walk all over the shop floor and he told mama and me all about his job.  We also got to see his desk, he sure does have a lot of pictures of me and mama!

The best part of the safety fair was getting to put my hand prints on the wall on the way into the shop floor, they are there to remind daddy to be safe so he can come home and play with me!

Tonight mama and daddy are going out to celebrate mama's birthday with friends, so Grandma Carolyn and Grandpa Tim came to play with me! The perfect end to a great day!

Shoes!

Another great day at daycare today!  The weather is so nice which means we got to play outside and go for a walk today!!  I like walks so much that I didn't want to get out of the stroller, I kept telling Gretchen, "No!"

Anyways, this evening I decided I was going to learn something new...I decided I was going to learn how to put my shoes on.

Shoes are really tricky...How do you put something on your foot when you are standing on it??

I tried really hard.  Mama said I sat in the living room working on it for over 15 minutes! 

Daddy finally decided to help me out...I was NOT happy.  How am I going to learn if he does it for me?  He finally told me he would buy me a new pair of shoes if I stopped crying, I negotiated and got two pairs out of the deal.

I hope everybody is taking advantage of the great weather!!

Diggin' up Dirt

Another beautiful March day!!

I am lovin' all the outside time I have been getting lately.  Bike rides, walks, and running around, it can't get any better than this!

Our neighbors have a really great swing set and they told me I can play on it any time that I want.  There are swings, a great slide, rock climbing wall, rope ladder and a sandbox!!  I was having so much fun digging in the sand that I didn't want to stop to pose for a photo...Here is an action-shot. 

Today wasn't quite as warm as it has been the past few days, but it was still pretty nice.
