Memorial Weekend Part 1: Camping Trip

I hope everybody had a great weekend, even though the weather wasn't the best. I had so much fun this weekend I am going to have to split my blog into a couple of posts again...

Thursday was the start of my first Memorial Day weekend and it was a REALLY great start. I got to daycare and Gretchen told me we were going Camping! I wasn't completely sure what camping was, but daddy talks about it all the time so I figured it had to be pretty great.

Gretchen had a tent in her front yard that we got to play in all day. We brought all sorts of fun toys out there and had chairs for everybody to sit on. Here is a group picture of everybody...

It was fun being in the tent, the big kids got to take their shoes off and I got to eat my bottle in there. After lunch Will (far right) got scared of the tent when the wind blew, I tried convincing him it wasn't scary but he didn't listen. We all decided to play outside so Will wouldn't feel left out.

I can't wait until mama and daddy take me camping for real, daddy says we are going sometime this summer. Daddy told me you get to eat all of your meals outside, you get to stay up late, have a campfire and sleep on the ground! I sure hope mom lets me try it out...

Like all good days at daycare, mom stopped the fun by picking me up, although it wasn't a typical day where we went home to play. After a long car ride we got out and I found out I got to go see my cousin Tyler play Tuba in his 6th grade band. It was a lot of fun to listen to the music, but it was really dark in there so I wasn't very happy. I got to play with my cousin a little bit before we hit the road again...

More to come tomorrow...Have a good night!

Daddy's Girl

Hey Everybody! I hope you all weathered the storms Ok...we got a LOT of rain but it was pretty calm down here compared to a lot of other places!!

Yesterday was a pretty crazy day, it rained all morning and then was beautiful in the afternoon, which meant that I got to help daddy work on mom's car.

There wasn't anything wrong with mom's car but daddy decided he needed to fix it none the less. Daddy got a hitch for Christmas and he needed to get the lights hooked up so we can use it this summer.

It was a long process because things weren't going very well. Here is a picture of me working with daddy. I don't feel like I was much of a help, all I did was play on my blanket in the garage, but it was fun anyways...
I got to wear my Twins shirt yesterday which I really liked. I can't wait until mama takes me to my first game.

Now that daddy has the lights hooked up to the hitch it is time to go visit Grandma Carolyn and Grandpa Tim and get the boat in the water!! I can't wait to see them this weekend.

Have a good night,

Happy Birthday to me!

Today is a VERY big day, I turned 4 months old today! I had a great time, mom stayed home from work so I got to hang out with her (Gretchen had to go to a wedding).

I have learned a lot in the last 4 months...Here is my Top 10 list...

10. Smiles make me happy. When I smile it makes mama smile, and when mama smiles it makes me want to smile...it can't get any better than that!

9. Music and lights make me happy. I love when mom sings to me and I love my toys that light up and play songs. Maybe I could grow up to be a music teacher like my grandma Carolyn.

8. Ceiling Fans and lights are the greatest invention EVER!!

7. Tummy time STINKS! I don't understand why mom makes me do it everyday. I was kind of excited to go to Gretchen's because I thought she wouldn't know about Tummy Time, unfortunately, mom told her about it and now I have to do it there as well...

6. Rattles make a lot of noise, but they don't taste very good. I just learned how to shake it, which makes it extra fun. I wish it tasted as good as my fingers do though...

5. Feet are really funny...They wiggle, they move, sometimes they have socks on them. I really wonder what they taste like but I haven't figured out how to get them into my mouth yet...

4. Talking is a lot of fun. I can make all sorts of fun noises!! Mom and daddy make even more noises, I wonder how long it will be until I am as good as them...

3. I have learned to be a good sleeper. I try REALLY hard to make it through the night, mom is so proud of me! I made my longest stretch of sleeping through the night this week, 4 nights in a row!!! I miss my early morning cuddles with mom, but she promised me that she would get in extra cuddles during the day.

2. My fingers are DELICIOUS!! I don't know why I don't see more big people eating their hands, it is the greatest thing ever!! Mom thinks it is cute and says it means I am healthy...

1. I am a very lucky girl to have so much family and friends who love me very much.

There you go, have a good weekend everybody!

Somebody is Lying to Me...

First of all, I have to apologize, Blogger has been down for almost a whole week...My goal was to blog at least twice a week but their outage messed me up last week. Sorry! Now for today's blog...

Last week I posted about the fun garden I got to make at Gretchen's house. It was a LOT of fun. We got to paint egg cartons, Gretchen helped us put Popsicle sticks in, and then we got to make some fun flowers and glue them on, it was great!

I was REALLY excited when mom told me me we were going to plant our garden, I had such a great time the first time, it could only get better! Mom put me in my carseat and loaded me into the car, that is when things started to get confusing. We went to a place called a Nursery, although it looked NOTHING like my nursery. There were lots of really helpful people there who showed us all sorts of pretty plants. Mom picked out a whole bunch of different ones.

When we got home daddy helped mom put them in the garage, she said it was too late to plant the garden.

The next day I went to daycare, excited to come home and make our garden, but when mom picked me up I heard her tell Gretchen that she had planted the garden already. I was kind of bummed that mom did the garden all by herself, I had such a great time with Gretchen. I was excited to get home to see what kind of flowers mom made, but when I got there I didn't see any gardens.

Here is a picture of me with all of the plants that we got at the nursery...

Mom took me out to the backyard to show me the garden, it didn't look anything like the garden I made at Gretchen's, but it was pretty neat. She explained that there were seeds that would grow into plants. Mom planted Tomato plants, red, orange and yellow peppers, peas, green beans, and cucumbers. Mom told me that someday I will get to eat the veggies from the garden, her favorite are the peas.

I haven't figured out who is lying, maybe there is more than one type of garden? Either way, it was fun!

Now it is time to watch the season finale of Survivor!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the amazing and great mamas out there! If I had known about this day I think I would have decided to come and hangout with mom a whole lot sooner!!

Today started out like most days do, wake up with dad, eat breakfast, and then play on the floor for a little bit. But then daddy taught me about something new, Breakfast in Bed! The plan is, you make breakfast, and then you bring it to somebody and surprise them! I think it sounds pretty great, you get breakfast and you don't even have to get out of bed. It didn't quite work exactly right, daddy waited a little too long because he didn't want to wake mama up, but then she woke up on her own and then daddy realized that we didn't have any eggs so he had to go to the store...Mom said it was the thought that counts.

After breakfast we all got ready and then we drove to Rochester to surprise Grandma Nancy for Mother's day! We had brunch with Grandma Nancy, Grandpa Bob and Auntie Heidi. Here is a picture of me with grandma. Auntie Wendy ordered grandma a corsage, it had three fuchsia carnations (for grandma's three kids), one blue carnation (for my cousin Tyler) and one light pink one for me!! It was really pretty and grandma loved it. Grandma's favorite flower is the carnation. I have decided to play a new game where I try REALLY hard not to smile for cameras. I did REALLY good at my 3 month pictures yesterday and I didn't let Aunt Heidi or Grandma get any good ones today either. I don't think mama is enjoying this game very much...

I really like Mother's day, it seems like a good idea to celebrate all of the good moms in our lives. Look at the fun bouquet that I got to make at daycare!!

Now it is time to take mom to dinner. Mama wants to go to Boston's, that is where she took daddy when she told him that she was pregnant with me just a little under a year ago!

I hope you had a good day!

April Showers bring May Flowers

I have been hanging out with Miss Gretchen a lot lately and it has been a lot of fun. One of my favorite things to do at her house is art projects.

Last week we learned about gardens and even got to make one of our own! The first part of our garden was to make caterpillars. Will and Alyssa helped me make mine. Alyssa did the painting of the plates (she is Gretchen's daughter) and then Will helped me put it together. He would come over and ask me what color I wanted next and then say, "Red, Ok..." but then he would come back with a blue one, he is still working on his colors...

The next day we "planted" our gardens. Once again, Alyssa helped me paint mine. When I got to Gretchen's the next day the flowers had started to grow!

I really liked how fast my garden grew...look at all of the pretty flowers!!

I am sure having a great time at Gretchen's, I can't wait to show mom the project we have been working on this week!

Lots of Love, and hopefully more sunshine,

Linden

Missing Kitten

I know I talk about my dogs, Jake and Bella, a lot, but the focus of the blog tonight is my kitten, Turk. Grandpa Bob came over for dinner tonight and realized that he hadn't seen kitten at all and that is when we realized...

KITTEN IS MISSING!!!

Turk is a VERY friendly cat. He is around 4-6 years old, and weighs between 8 and 10 pounds. He is Black, grey and white. He loves people and might even be hiding in a garage (we normally find him in our garage when he goes missing). Here is a picture of kitten...

I wasn't very happy when I found out that he was missing, he is my favorite cat!

Here is a picture of us cuddling back in February, we go WAY back!

Kitten has tags on him with his name, phone number and address, although it is on a cat collar so it comes off fairly easily.

Please let me know if you see anything or hear about him. I really miss him and I hope he comes home soon!
