Playing is Hard work

Today was a pretty busy day. This morning at church was a special day, we became members. It was pretty much just a normal church service but I got to wear my first dress!! I am a pretty big fan of dresses, I was really pretty. Daddy changed me into play clothes before mom had a chance to take a picture so you will have to wait until next week to see my pretty dress.

After church mom went to a movie and out for dessert with Hailey. They saw Gnomeo and Juliet and both said it was pretty good. While mom was at the movie I got to hangout with daddy. We went to get his hair cut and then ran some other errands.

I had a lot of time this evening which means that I got a lot of play time in. I have been waking up a lot more lately, I wish I had known that the more time I am awake, the more time I get to play. Mama likes to read me books and sing songs with me. I also like to sit in my swing while mom gets things done. My favorite thing to play with is my ocean floor mat. It has a seahorse and octopus for me to bat at with my hands and it makes fun noise when I hit it. I am not very coordinated yet but mama says that I will get better.

Bella and Kitten like to play with my toy sometimes too, Jake doesn't really seem to care about it. Mom doesn't like them playing with it, I don't get it, I heard from the other babies at Newborn Clinic that I need to learn to share...
Time for me to eat some dinner and then go to bed. It is a LOT of work being awake this much!!

Teach 'em while they are young...

Today was a pretty fun day. Mom and I met dad for lunch at the bagel shop in downtown Owatonna. That is one of mom's favorite lunch places and they had her favorite soup today so she was in a pretty good mood.

After lunch mom and I came home and mom decided to work on one of the quilts she has material for. I don't know what mom has been saying about me, but I REALLY like hanging out with mom and have decided that the only way I am going to sleep is if I am on her. So, after several failed attempts to try and get me to sleep (she tried my carseat, both swings, my crib, the floor on my tummy, and the floor on my back) she decided to give in and let me sleep on her lap.

The picture she took doesn't really do my victory much justice because mom had to take it herself and I was sleeping on her legs, but I let her get in about two hours of sewing which made her pretty happy to be doing something she loves to do so much. I like sleeping on my tummy and the sound of her machine is relaxing so it worked out for the both of us.

Have a good night everybody, and get some sleep for my mom. She is a really tricky mama and gets me to sleep in my crib for short periods of time each night, but she doesn't trick me for long. It is REALLY hard staying awake when you are this little and mom takes advantage of my sleepiness. I don't know how long it is going to take to convince her that she is so much more comfortable than my crib!
Before I go, I want to say "Good Luck" to my cousin Tyler. He has district playoffs for hockey tomorrow. I hope you guys won tonight and I hope you win tomorrow!!
Lots of Love,
Linden

State of Hockey!

I LOVE HOCKEY!! We had a GREAT time last night at the game...Let me tell you about it...

Mom's biggest worry was how to get me inside without getting cold...Auntie Megan to the rescue, she gave me this really cute snowsuit, mom and dad bundled me up and I stayed toasty warm. Aren't I cute...? :-)

My biggest worry was what I was going to wear to the game. I had a Steelers outfit for the Super Bowl, a Curling outfit for my first Bonspiel, I had to have a Wild Outfit...Daddy to the rescue! He got me this cute onsie before I was born!

I thought I would be the youngest baby there, but the next section over there was a baby that was even littler than me!! I had a great time, but I am a pretty sleepy girl so I slept most of the game, the fog horn didn't really even bother me. There were some really loud guys behind us that scared me sometimes but I didn't cry...
Here is our first Wild Family Picture. I can't wait until I am big enough to have a Wild jersey like mom and dad...
It was a really fun game to watch. It was very physical and there were a bunch of goals.
And in the end, we WON!!!

I had a great time and I can't wait until my next game!

My baby and me!

So, I have to tell you about a present that I got from one of Daddy's friends and co-workers, she got me my first baby doll! Mom said this isn't just any baby doll, it is a Cabbage Patch Kid baby doll. Mom had one growing up so she thought it was pretty special for me to have one of my own too. Here is a picture of me with my first baby doll...
The really cool thing about this baby doll is that she has the same name and birthday as me!!
I am pretty excited to get older and learn how to take care of my baby. She is really soft and cuddly and I am sure I will make a good mama to her.
I have to get going. Daddy got free tickets to see the Wild tonight. Mom isn't sure if I will make it the whole game but she is willing to give it a shot. We'll let you know how it goes tomorrow!

Snow day

Today was a pretty laid back day, because of all the snow we got, Daddy took the truck to work so mom and I had to stay inside and hangout. We didn't do too much today, but we did get a couple good naps in!!

One of my favorite times of the day is at night, right before bed mom feeds me and then it is time to read. Some of the time mom reads, other times daddy reads, some times I get rocked, and some times I lay on the floor, no matter what, I love it!

My favorite book so far is "I Don't Want to Get Up Today" by Dr. Seuss. Mama got it from my Aunt Wendy when she went to college, Wendy thought it was funny because mom likes to sleep! It was one of the few books mom and dad had when I was in mom's tummy so that is what they read to me. I also really like Curious George, I have a couple books about him.

Here is a picture of daddy reading to me. Most nights Jake goes to bed before we start reading, he is a REALLY sleepy puppy and likes to go to bed early, but Bella joins us most nights...

My Mama's aunt and uncle, Wanda and Arne, sent me my first bible so mom and dad have started reading that to me. Mom says there are lots of really fun stories and they all will teach me about a really important person. I am pretty excited to learn about him, mom says he is a big deal.
Well, off to bed, we have a busy day tomorrow!

a GREAT weekend!

First of all, Happy 1 month Birthday to me!! Can you believe all the snow we got today, it is at least knee high at my house (well, up to my knee at least...)

Let me tell you about my crazy, fun weekend...It started out on Friday morning when we took off for Grandma Carolyn's house in Alexandria, MN. We made a stop at Target, then Barnes and Nobles and then CHIPOTLE!!! Mom said I am too little to eat Chipotle, maybe for my two month birthday I will be big enough...mom said it will be a bit longer.

Friday night was a lot of fun, I got to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa and we got to stay up REALLY late. Mom went to bed at 9 but I stayed up until after 10!! Grandpa and I had a great time playing really late!

Saturday we woke up and after breakfast we went and met my great-grandparents, turns out, they are pretty GREAT!!! Great-grandpa Glen kept staring at me and saying "I could just watch her all day". He lives in an assisted living home and all of his buddies came in to meet me too. The nice staff even brought us cookies!! I was awake for a little while when we were there and I was showing off my talking skills, Great-grandpa asked if I talk much and mom said that I talk all the time, great-grandpa responded "typical woman...", I like him, he is funny :-)

Here is a picture of us together...
I also got to meet my Great-grandma Joan. She is really sweet and wanted to cuddle with me too. She brought me a really cute pink outfit for when I get bigger. Here is a picture of us cuddling...

Saturday night I got to meet more of my family, I got to meet my great-aunt Naomi and great-uncle Tom (dad's aunt and uncle). Grandma made dinner for all of us and everybody said it was really good. I have had a cold for the past few days so I was fussy for most of the night, but they still said I was pretty cute and that I am a keeper! I really hope my cold goes away so I can feel better soon...
We left grandma's house this morning but before we went grandma read me a book borrowed for me from the library, "I'm Going to Grandma's". It was a really cute book about a little girl who goes to her grandma's for the night and she gets scared, but then grandma gives her a quilt that her grandma made for her when she was a little girl and it made her feel better. I really liked the book, and I liked reading with Grandma. Grandma found another book at the library called "Grumpy Grandpa", but she didn't think grandpa would like it very much so she didn't get it. Here is a picture of me with the book...
Mom and dad were pretty happy with how good of a car rider I was this weekend, I slept pretty much the whole time, and when I wasn't sleeping I was still really good. I am pretty excited for our Family Vacation to Duluth in a month!!
Keep warm, and enjoy the fresh snow!

Pizza Party!

Hailey came over tonight, I like when she comes over, we get to play games and tonight we got to have a pizza party!

Mom and Hailey are pretty much the best cooks I know (the only other cook I know is daddy and he doesn't really make much...) Mom and i went to the grocery store and got all of the ingredients, pizza dough, sauce, cheese and of course, mini pepperoni!! Hailey loves pepperoni and i love that they were little, like me!

I was a good helper, I slept in my swing the whole time they were cooking! After they got the pizza all put together they sat down and played Sorry. Hailey and mom like that game a lot, some nights mom is lucky, other nights Hailey has all the luck, and every once in a while dad wins a game! Tonight mom was on fire!

Mom forgot to get a picture of us with our pizza, it was really good...here is a picture of me with Hailey though...

Well, off to bed, tomorrow is going to be a big day, we are going on a weekend road trip, daddy took a half day so we could get on the road early. The first stop will be at Chipotle in the cities. Mom ate a LOT of Chipotle when I was in her tummy, at least until I got too big and then she stopped eating Chipotle and started complaining about heartburn all the time. After Chipotle we will be on our way to Alexandria. I am pretty excited for this trip because I get to meet my great grandma and great grandpa. I think my grandma and grandpa are pretty great so I am excited to see how amazing a GREAT grandparent is!
I'll try and get mom to take some pictures this weekend and then we will let you know how it went when we get home!
Have a good weekend,
Linden

Quilted With Love

Happy Wednesday!

Mom and I got out of the house this morning which was pretty exciting because it is BEAUTIFUL outside! I was really trying to figure out why anybody would want to live in cold Minnesota, but on days like today I am starting to see that it might not be so bad. Mom had a haircut appointment today so I got to meet Shelly, she was pretty nice and kept telling me how perfect I am :-) I can't wait until I have enough hair to go visit Shelly for myself!

I got a package in the mail today from my mom's Aunt Kathy, I think that makes her my great aunt. She is a REALLY good quilter, she even had one of her quilts on the cover of a Major quilting magazine!! I was pretty excited when I opened the package and saw that she made me a quilt! I love my new quilt so much that I decided to take a nap on it...

Here is a close-up of me on the quilt, I love the stars that she quilted into the corners...

Since we are on the topic of quilts, I figured I should show off the quilt my mom made for me too. Mom was pretty proud of this quilt, it was the first time she ever tried applique and I must say it turned out pretty great!

Here is a close-up of me next to the giraffe, I really like the bright colored flowers.

Mom pieced together the quilt top but she had one of daddy's co-workers do the machine quilting. She free-handed the flower/swirl pattern, mom and I both agree that it turned out pretty cute.

I love my new quilts just about as much as I love to sleep (and I LOVE to sleep!)
I'm off to take another nap,

Grandma's Chunky Monkey

Today was another day of firsts, I had my first babysitter and her name was GRANDMA Nancy!! I know I have said it before, but I am a pretty lucky girl to have grandparents who love me so much.

Grandma Nancy came over today because mom had an eye appointment and a dentist appointment so grandma got to have two whole hours to hang out with me, just the two of us. I can't give too many details about our day because I don't want mom to find out how much grandma spoiled me, but I will tell you there was PLENTY of cuddling!!

Here is a picture of grandma and I cuddling on the couch, mom caught a picture of us when she came home...

Mom's eye appointment was in the morning, then we went to lunch and met daddy, and then she had her dentist appointment in the afternoon. After lunch we went to the Amazing Newborn Clinic so mom could see how much growing I did this past week.

I really like going to newborn clinic to see all of the other babies but I HATE when they make mom strip me down so they can weigh me, why do I have to be naked, it is WAY too cold...Mom was pretty excited to see how much weight I had gained because I have been eating a LOT in the past two weeks, pretty much ALL the TIME!! It is a lot of work being this cute, and it takes a lot of energy...Anyways, mom got me ready and put me on the scale and the nurse asked her if their records were correct that I weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces last Tuesday (see below, they have a VERY sophisticated record keeping system...)

After mom verified that their "records" were correct they told mom that I had gained a whole pound in 7 days!!
After mom called me a chunky monkey I refused to let her take any pictures of me, we are both pretty proud of how much growing I have done in the past few weeks. Mom is hoping that I slow down pretty soon so she can have a little bit of a break, we'll see :-)
Anyways, I'm getting hungry, Happy Tuesday!

Showered with Love

Happy Valentines Day! Valentines Day is my first holiday and it seems like a pretty good holiday. Mom and I went to HyVee and got some flowers from Daddy. He said that he told the lady behind the flower counter to look for the hot mama with the adorable baby and that is who the flowers are for, I don't think I believe him, I saw mom pay for the flowers so I think she just bought them because she likes having flowers in the house! Either way, they sure are pretty.

I heard that a big part of Valentines Day is getting LOTS of candy. Mom said I am too young for chocolate so I guess I will have to wait until next year to find out how good it is, but everybody seems pretty excited about it.

Mom said that she and daddy don't really do anything special to celebrate Valentines Day but mom got steak and some yummy looking potatoes for dinner tonight. I think it would be really sweet if daddy took mom and I out for dessert tonight, we'll see, they like going to bed REALLY early these days, I don't understand why they seem so tired all the time...

I'll have to say, my favorite part about Valentines Day is that everything is the best color in the world, PINK!! I am wearing my Valentines outfit in all of the pictures below, it is pretty cute, and of course, it is PINK!!

I have to tell you about the fun we had yesterday. Aunt Wendy and Heidi threw a really great baby shower for mom and I! We had a bunch of mom's friends over, and both of my Grandmas and all of my aunts came. It was a lot of fun getting to meet all of the people that mean so much to mom, and they were pretty excited to get to hold me!

I got a LOT of great things from mom's friends, I am going to be a VERY stylish girl, look at all of the cute clothes...
And I got a bunch of great toys (the sports balls are from my cousin Tyler!!)...
Daddy was pretty excited about my new Minnesota Wild outfit that I got. I have a LOT of growing to do before I fit into it. My cousin Tyler thinks that if he gets me enough sports stuff that I will turn into a sports girl...I don't know if it will work. I also got a pair of cute Nike shoes too, look how little they are!
Daddy just got home from work so I have to finish blogging so I can cuddle with him before I help mom cook Valentines Dinner!
Thanks for throwing such a great party Aunties, and Happy Valentines Day everybody!

My whole Family is Famous!!

Ok, so only my daddy has a restaurant named after him, but my cousin Tyler is REALLY famous, he was the STAR of the show!

Last night we went and saw my Cousin Tyler in his middle school play, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Tyler is only a sixth grader but he had one of the main roles, he was CHARLIE!! The play was really good, he had a bunch of speaking lines and some solos. Tyler did a really great job and we had a great time.
Here is a picture of me with my cousin after the play...
Tyler was really excited to show me off, of course all of the middle school girls LOVED me!! You can't see me in the mob below, but you can see Tyler in the middle...

We had a great time, and mom said I was a great audience member, I didn't cry once!!! We had a fantastic time.

Today we are having a bunch of friends over for a baby shower, I can't wait!

I didn't know Daddy is famous!!

Happy Birthday to me! I turned 3 weeks old today and I am feeling pretty special! I have grown a LOT over the last 3 weeks, mom put me in one of the cute outfits from Grandma and it barely fits anymore...I guess mom is going to have to take me shopping for my 4 week birthday...

Evidently a 3 week birthday is a pretty big deal because Grandpa Bob came over and took us out for dinner. Grandpa Bob drives bus for the Rochester school district and he had one of the Rochester schools over to Owatonna for Swimming and Diving tonight. When grandpa is in town mom and dad meet him for dinner, sometimes mom cooks, other times we go out to eat. Tonight was Famous Daves!

Here is me with Grandpa Bob. I have to point out his cool sweatshirt, my cousin Tyler gave it to Grandpa for Christmas this year, it says "Worlds Greatest Grandpa" and then it has our names underneath!

Of course I had to get a picture of me with my famous daddy...

Well, off to bed, only a couple hours before I am up again and ready to eat!

Back where it all began...

Turns out today is the day the doctors originally told mom I was going to be born, tomorrow I turn 3 weeks old!

A couple people have asked mom for the story about how I came into the world 3 weeks early so here goes...

The night before I was born mom noticed that her fingers were blue before going to bed, this had happened before and her doctor told her to watch for it again, but not to worry too much so she went to bed. The next day while she was getting ready for work it happened again, twice so she started to get a little concerned. Once she got to work she called her doctor and he suggested she come in and get checked out.

Mom showed up at the hospital, they did some lab work and then checked her blood pressure and it was 190 over 88 which the doctor said was too high. Originally the plan was for mom to go home for the rest of the week and take it easy and then reassess on Monday. The doctor hooked her up to some machines to monitor how I was doing and then checked her blood pressure again and it was higher so he decided that since he was on call that night it might be best to get things started. Mom walked over to the hospital and they started pitocin around noon.

You might be wondering where dad was this whole time. Dad has had a really crazy month at work. They purchased a new machine which showed up the week before I was born, and then he got a promotion the week I was born so he had TONS of meetings about his new job, and had suppliers in about his new machine. Dad had meetings the whole morning that I was born so mom waited to call him until she thought his meetings were over. Dad showed up around the time they started mom on pitocin.

The nurses joked that all mom needed to do was smell the pitocin because as soon as they started it things started happening. Originally they planned on breaking mom's water around 5 pm but the doctor showed up and said it was time at 2:30.

Once mom's water broke she said the contractions started to get more uncomfortable and after a little while mom asked the nurses for some pain meds because she was worried about it getting really bad. The nurses were REALLY busy (8 babies were born in 24 hours, the Owatonna hospital typically only has 2-4 babies in the hospital at one time) so they didn't get back to mom with pain meds for about 30 minutes and by that time it was too late, they said mom went from 4cm to 9cm in only 30 minutes!

That's when things got really crazy. The nurses were running around trying to get all of the stuff setup and trying to find the doctor, mom started pushing before he even showed up! Mom said it was pretty crazy how quickly they got all of the instruments and warming stuff for me setup. 30 minutes after mom started pushing I was born.

Well, there you have it. Mom said it was a pretty crazy day, dad didn't have time to call Grandma and Grandpa until after I was born because it all happened so quickly! As soon as everybody knew I was here they started showing up and the rest is history!

Here are some pictures...This is the day I was born...

And this is from this morning, don't I look like a big girl?

Don't forget to wish me a happy 3 week birthday tomorrow :-)

Every party has a pooper and the pooper is me!

Mom likes singing that song (when she sings it she says "Every party has a pooper and the pooper is YOU!), evidently I go through a LOT of diapers.

To be perfectly honest, it isn't completely my fault that I go through so many diapers, dad had one night where it took him 3 diapers before he finally got a clean one on me! I started messing with dad before I left the hospital!!

Even mom has had a couple two diaper changes, but I think it is more fun to surprise mom when we are in public and she doesn't have a diaper on me. Today at newborn clinic the nurse was weighing me (I am up to 7 pounds 2 ounces!!) and I peed on the scale. It was kind of funny, mom didn't agree! Nurse Sarah didn't seem to mind too much. I don't know what it will take for mom to understand that when my butt gets cold there is no telling what I might do (I went #2 when I was at the clinic for my 2 week checkup).

Here is a picture of me after mom changed me today, look how big I am!! I am usually a happy girl when mom changes me, but I can get pretty crabby for daddy!

Anyways, enough talk about going to the bathroom. Grandpa Bob is on his way over. He drove the bus for one of the high school hockey teams from Rochester to Owatonna tonight. Mom is making chili for dinner, evidently we have a LOT of chili ingredients (and evidently it is some how my fault...)
Keep warm everybody!

The Results are In!!

Well, like the title says, the results are in, but before I announce the winner I have to share some pictures!

Daddy had to help us break into the bank, mom was REALLY hoping we would be able to drill into the bank without breaking it. Daddy got the drill out and went to work.

Mom decided to play it safe and put the bank into a tub while daddy was drilling just in case it broke. After a few minutes of drilling we were successful, we got in without breaking it!

It took a while to get all the dimes out because they were PACKED into the bank. Look at how many dimes there were! It took Grandpa Bob a long time to collect this many dimes.

Here is a picture of me and daddy (and Turk), mom wouldn't let me help drill, she said I was too young, but at least I got a photo with the power tool, Grandpa Tim will be so proud!

Mom and I went to the bank today to find out how many dimes were in there. I wanted to count them but mom said that money is too dirty for me and I don't exactly know how to count yet. Here is a picture of me with my dimes!

The final total, $111.75, that right, 1,117 dimes and one nickel! And now the winner...drum roll please...Mom's college friend, Erin Baldes! She guessed 1195 and there were 1117 (we aren't playing Price is Right rules).

Like I said, there isn't really a prize, most people think I am pretty cute, so Erin, we'll have to get together soon and we can hang out, and in a couple months you and mom can get together and your little boy and I can have a play date!!
This afternoon is going to be a lot of fun, Mom's little Hailey (through Big Brothers Big Sisters) is coming over. I'm not sure what they are going to do together, but hopefully they have fun!

Bonspiel!

Turns out Mom was right, Bonspiels are pretty exciting!

I got to hang out at the curling club both Friday and Saturday for a couple hours, I slept most of the time I was there but it was still a pretty good time. Mom said the food was pretty good each night, daddy enjoyed the beer, and of course, the excitement of curling!

Mom didn't get any pictures of me tonight at the curling club because she said I was too little to go out on the ice, and they have a pretty tight schedule that the matches have to stay on. The curling club is one of the pole sheds at the fair grounds so the area where the sheets of ice are is REALLY cold, but then they have a warming house area which is where mom and I stayed which is nice and toasty. Daddy was out on the ice most of the time that I was there.

Daddy and his team played a match on Friday afternoon, one this morning, and then one this evening. They lost their first two matches, and when mom and I left it didn't look like they were going to win the one tonight. If they do win they will have to curl again tomorrow morning! That is a LOT of curling for one weekend!

Here are some pictures of Daddy and his team:

This is daddy getting ready to throw a stone.

Here is an action shot of daddy's teammate, Mike, throwing a stone.

Here is a picture of daddy, it looks like he is just standing around, but he is waiting for the other team to throw their stone before he can sweep for his teammates. Notice, daddy is wearing his UMD jersey, mom and I stayed up and watched the end of the game, Bulldogs beat the Gophers 6-4!!!

I need to go to bed now, I think this is my latest post!! Hopefully daddy comes home and tells mom and I that he won so we get to go watch more curling, otherwise tomorrow will be a pretty standard Sunday.

Mama Needs a Hobby...

Tonight is the first night of my first Bonspiel!!

I don't exactly know what curling is, but mom explained it as a sport where two teams slide large stones (they weigh over 40 pounds!!) from one end of the ice to the other and try and get their stones closest to the center of the target area called the house. The scoring is similar to Bocce Ball.

Dad got into curling a few years ago when he and mom went to a New Years Eve party at the Owatonna Curling Club. Dad has been a member of the curling club since.

A Bonspiel is a multi-day tournament for curling. Daddy's team was the first half champions for his league so he is pretty excited to curl this weekend and is hoping for some good games.

Mom decided that I should have a special outfit for my first Bonspiel. Hopefully I am warm enough in a T-Shirt so I can show it off!

Well, daddy should be home soon and then we have to get ready to go curling. Dad has the early match tonight so hopefully mom and I can get home kind of early and get some sleep!

Have a great weekend,

Take it to the Bank!

Hey Everybody! Happy Thursday!

I was sitting in my room today and noticed that I have not one, not two, but three piggy banks. Turns out my mom and Grandpa Bob really like piggy banks so mom decided that I should have a good piggy bank in order to keep my money in.

This is the first piggy bank that I got. Mom got it before I was born because Grandpa Tim liked to leave his change on my dresser when he would come. It is a REALLY big piggy bank, it might take me until I am in college to fill this one. I like it a lot because it has fun polka dots on it!

This is the next piggy bank I got. Mom's friend Katie Olson made it, that's right, she MADE it! Katie likes making pottery and is really good at it. I don't know if this is her first piggy bank but I do know she has made a lot of bowls, vases, cups and other fun things. Katie made this for me as a baby shower gift. I really like the big eyes and I LOVE the curly pig tail!

This is the third piggy bank that I have. Mom actually got this piggy bank for Grandpa Bob when she was in high school. Mom went on a trip to Spain and saw this bank in one of the little towns along the coast and immediately loved it. Grandpa Bob kept it for a long time, not knowing what to do with it.

A year or two before I was born Grandpa decided that he would start filling the bank with dimes and then when mom had her first baby he would give it back full. Little did he know that mom and dad were making plans to have me! The silly part about this bank is that there is no hole in the bottom to get the money out so Grandpa has no idea how much he put in there.

Mom has decided to play a game. We are going to have a guessing game on the Blog and Facebook to see how many dimes are in the bank. Below is a picture of the bank with a quarter next to it so you have an idea of how big it is. Mom weighed the bank and me and found that I weigh 6 pounds 7 ounces, and the bank weighs 7 pounds, that is more than me!!

Here is a picture of me next to the bank, can you believe it is heavier than me, I am so much bigger!

If you want to play our little game just post a comment with how many dimes you think are in the bank. You can post it on the blog, on Facebook or just e-mail mom. Grandpa Bob is guessing that there is 2,500 dimes, just to give you an idea (he has no idea, just his guess). You need to submit your guess by Monday if you want to play. I don't know what the winner will get, but it will be fun anyways!!

Here is one last picture of me with all three of my banks!

Hope you have a good evening!

Road Trip!

GRANDMA came to visit!!

Grandma Carolyn heard that I had started waking up and opening my eyes more and she couldn't wait to come see me. She was making a trip to the cities (from Alexandria) to go to Ikea (another one of mom's favorite stores) so she decided to come visit me!

It was a pretty exciting day. Mom decided since I was going to have company I should get a bath. My umbilical cord fell off today so pretty soon I am going to get to have my first real bath, but mom decided to just give me another sponge bath today. I don't really like baths because I get REALLY cold, but I like to be clean and I smell REALLY good after mom puts the lotion on me, I like that part. After lunch I took a nap and when I woke up Dad was home! He decided that because Grandma was coming he should take a half day and hang out with us. It was fun having him home early, although mom and dad kept passing me back and forth because they both wanted to cuddle with me which made it hard to sleep.

After mom and dad ate lunch Grandma arrived. I was awake for a little bit when she first arrived but then I got hungry and once my tummy is full I get REALLY sleepy! Grandma didn't get her camera out right away so I am not sure if she got any pictures of me with my eyes open, this is one that Dad took, I don't remember it because I was taking a nap. Grandma also had her new video camera with her today so she took the first video of me. Mom and Dad made fun of her because I was sleeping :-)

I feel pretty special that both my grandmas (and grandpas and aunts and cousins too) make such an effort to come visit me. I am a very lucky little girl that I have so many people who love me!!
I need to go fill my tummy now, I don't like being hungry! Mom wakes up to feed me every 3 hours so she needs to go to bed early tonight to catch up on some sleep too!
Happy Wednesday,
Amanda

Crazy Daddy...

First of all, I have to say, Mom's dinner last night was a success. I didn't get to eat any of course, but all of the adults said it was pretty tasty. There was a Fajita Lime Chicken seasoning kit that mom wants to try now (they were sold out when we were at the store last).

Today was a VERY exciting day. We started it out with my two week appointment with Dr. Bob (he has a long last name so he just goes by Dr. Bob). I gained 9 ounces in the last week putting me up to 6 pounds 7 ounces which is one ounce over my birth weight. I have been a very good eater for mom!! Dr. Bob said I am still only in the 5th percentile for my weight but mom was still pretty happy that I am getting bigger.

If you can remember back a few days ago I got to visit mom's favorite store, well dad decided that tonight was the night that I should visit his favorite store. It was REALLY cold outside so they bundled me up tight in my carseat and off to Cabela's we went. I don't know why daddy loves that store so much, there is a LOT of really bright orange and brown clothing and all sorts of boring hunting and fishing gear. I did think the animals were pretty neat though. Here are some photos.
I thought the bunny was pretty cute, mom wouldn't let me look at what was above the bunny chasing it...

I don't know how they got the elephant in the store, he is SO big!

Well, there you have it. Cabela's was a pretty fun trip. I wonder what adventures tomorrow will bring. I have to go to bed, mom says it is WAY past my bedtime!
